Rishabh Pant has achieved a career-best seventh position in the ICC Test rankings after his remarkable centuries in the first Test against England. He equalled Andy Flower's record as the only wicketkeepers to score two centuries in a single Test. Pant's success is inspiring, especially after his near-fatal car accident in 2022.

Rishabh Pant is receiving accolades after his outstanding performance in the first Test against England, where he scored centuries in both innings. This feat has propelled him to a career-best seventh position in the ICC Test rankings for batters.

Pant's scores of 134 and 118 in the Leeds Test, despite England's victory by five wickets, have solidified his position as a key player for Team India. He joins Zimbabwe's Andy Flower as the only wicketkeepers to achieve twin centuries in the same Test match.

His success is particularly remarkable considering his near-fatal car accident in December 2022.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka lauded Pant's performance after his impressive display at Headingley.

Goenka shared his admiration in a social media post, stating, "@RishabhPant17’s comeback story is truly inspirational." He highlighted Pant's journey from "battling the odds after his unfortunate accident to batting his way to 7th in the ICC Test rankings." He added that Pant "continues to raise the bar" by "setting new records and becoming the first Indian keeper-batter to hit 800 rating points." Goenka concluded by wishing Pant and #TeamIndia "all the best for the rest of the series."

Pant's return to cricket after his accident also saw him secure a record-breaking IPL contract worth Rs 27 crore with LSG at last year's November auction. Despite initial concerns about his form, following a season where he scored only 128 runs in 10 IPL innings, Pant silenced critics with his exceptional performance against England, demonstrating his resilience and determination.
